The Printmaking Project has become an annual event for the art students at Ithaca High School. In partnership with printmakers Pamela Drix and Caleb R Thomas, this project reflects the ICSD emphasis on rigor, relevance and relationship. Pamela and Caleb visited our IHS art room, sharing their portfolio work and careers as printmakers, artists and teachers. They also demonstrated printmaking techniques that the students used during their visit to the studio. The culmination of the project was two full days in a workshop at PamelaÕs art studio at the South Hill Business Campus. Here, students experienced the resources and facility of a professional printmaking studio while developing their own artwork using xerox transfer, stencils, and monoprinting techniques.
