A Masters Degree Urban Design thesis providing opportunities for enhancing the everyday pedestrian experience. The thesis provides possibilities for the implementation of art in the public realm. The thesis uses the City of Toronto as its foundation, identifying problems with city policies, studies and the Planning Act, as well as recommending changes to these policies. The thesis proposes a concentration of art through the middle of the city, and new criteria for understanding opportunities where art could and should be implemented.
