Through an autobiography and letters Jack L. Morris tells the story of his life behind bars beginning when he was a juvenile until he was released from Pelican Bay State Prison, Crescent City, California, where he was held in solitary confinement for over twenty five years. The combination of his writing about his life plus his descriptions in his letters provide testimony to the realities and dilemmas he faced and the ways he found to endure incarceration.
