Ise Oluwa for string quartet is a monothematic piece based on a Nigerian popular Christian song called ÒIse Oluwa ko le bajeÓ (The work of the Lord is indestructible). The theme bounces between each of the violins. A single violin holds the entire four phrases of the song at each appearance, while the other instruments accompany. It is a tonal work tonicizing the keys of A, E, and G majors.
