Robert "Bob" Lyle was a teenager when WWII began. After graduating from Baton Rouge High, he enrolled in LSU and joined ROTC. Anxious to "do his part" he dropped out of college and with three buddies enlisted in the Marines. Assigned to the First Marine Division, the "Old Breed", he did not have long to wait to get into action. The story follows the "Huck Finn" life of a teen age boy growing up in the very serious world of war. CPL Robert "Bob" Lyle's survival and success in life, he credits to his mother, a devoted Christian, and what bit of religion that he clung to when things got tough. Bob Lyle now lives in Louisiana and uses his opportunities to spread the faith of Jesus Christ.
