This is the first edition of a reference book of Java programs written for the Java programming laboratory. The focus of this book is on hands-on programming. The authors find that programming can only be learnt, reinforced and taught by doing actual programming! It is a reference book containing reference Java programming examples. In order that the reader retains focus, Flowchart and Syntax of important Java statements especially control flow statements, exception handling etc. have been included in the book itself, so external reference may not be required for a quick review. Each program has a Source code listing, the occasional Flowchart and Syntax and the Console output showing the steps involved in compiling and running the Java program. The programs have been arranged in ten chapters in the order of increasing difficulty, both logic wise and concept wise. It is the authorÕs hope that the student programming community shall benefit from the book.
