The book ÒJohn Carter of MarsÓ comprises two novelettes originally published in Amazing Stories pulp magazine: ÒJohn Carter and the Giant of MarsÓ was published in the January 1941 issue with the byline ÒEdgar Rice BurroughsÓ. However, ERB had nothing to do with the writing of the story! It was written by his younger son, John Coleman Burroughs. In the February 1943 issue of Amazing Stories, ÒSkeleton Men of JupiterÓ appeared, the first part of a 4-part novel. Unfortunately, due to World War II and the failing health of ERB, the remaining 3 stories were not written.
