This book is the story of John Umpstead Rencher (1853-1936) who was born in Texas in and later lived in Utah, Arizona, Mexico and again in Arizona and Utah. He served as a missionary for the Mormon Church in South Carolina from 1897-99. During Mexican Revolution he, with many other Americans were forced to leave Mexico and return to USA. He and his wife Julia Keel Rencher were foster parents to Cora and Henry Forster. John was a farmer, jeweler and watch maker. This story is also told with many photographs.
