This is a portfolio of Joint interior design studio project done by two cultural student groups: Western, represented by undergraduate and graduate students of Interior Architecture at the University of Oregon, and Eastern, by graduate students of Interior Design at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. Both the US and Korean interior design students were engaged in a Korean socio-cultural and site-specific interior project to explore different cultural viewpoints and to enhance awareness of cultural diversity by participating in design research and design activities, and proposed innovative ideas for a 16,000 sf. (1,500 m2) Tourist Information Center of Korea located in downtown Seoul. This portfolio will reveal any cultural differences that may exist between Western and Eastern design culture in design thinking and design process.
