In this booklet you will find a collection of mathematical tasks for Grade 5. Each task has:
¥ A problem statement;
¥ A collection of Common Core State Standards to which the task applies;
¥ A commentary discussing the pedagogical and mathematical concepts pertinent to the task;
¥ One or more solutions for the problem at hand.
The tasks were created to clarify the meaning of the Standards for a variety of stakeholders, particularly for teachers and teacher leaders. We hope that they are useful to spark discussions and enable collegial conversations. They can serve as a starting place for professional development activities.
