Kalila: An IROQUOIS WOMAN in her late 50's, Kalila is the mother of 5 daughters, Jennifer, Brianna (Brie), Jodelle (Jody) Germayne, and the youngest, Noodle. A breast cancer survivor, she suffers from osteoporsis and has come to the point in life where she would like to settle down, be a grandmother and enjoy her children. She is distressed to find that none of her 3 children over 25 are preparing to settle down with husband and children. As a mother, she questions herself as to where she has gone wrong. Kalila's 5 daughters are mixed race, Native American from their mother, and a mix of French and African genes from their now deceased father.
