Vernacular typography surrounds us everydayÑfrom store signs to concert posters to stickers on the side of a street car. It carries a sense of history and culture, and through this project, has become a source of inspiration for Portland State UniversityÕs Typography 1 class. However, with the recent increase in development in Portland, ver_nacular typography in the city is fleeting. Our class set out to docu_ment found typography in Portland and archive it in this book.
