ÒKeeping the Montauk LightÓ teaches children the purpose of lighthouses and how commerce was conducted years ago as well as sharing the true adventures of a young girl growing up in the 1800Õs on the East End of Long Island.
Emily Scott grew up in the Montauk Lighthouse a long time ago. She loved watching ships sail by and whales at play. She collected sea shells and beautiful bits of glass that washed up on the shore. And she helped her father keep the light clean and full of oil so sailors could see it far out at sea. She loved living in a lighthouse!
