The Ancient Kemetians left us written evidence of their use of Mathematics with ivory labels found at the Temple of Abydos, which dates back to at least 3000 BC. These labels were used in an advanced inventory system with goods inscribed with numbers which reached well into the millions. Further evidence of the use of Mathematics can be found all around the ruins of ancient Kemet today, from the building of Temples and Pyramids, to calculating the position of the Stars. The Ancient Kemetians invented the decimal system, they were truly great Mathematicians.
This book offers an introduction to Kemetic Math, and also gives children a chance to practice there addition and subtraction in a home school setting.
