This miniature song cycle comprises three songs, very different in time and place but surprisingly similar in tone. The first is from a work by a nineteenth-century Belgian priest and poet, written in West Flemish; the second is a poem written in medi¾val French by a fifteeth-century duke while a prisoner of war; the third is an early Esperanto work composed by a Swiss professor in the twentieth century. Each of these three disparate texts make its own statement about love, separation, and death. Total duration: approx. 11 minutes.
