Donovan Cobb was nominated to join a secret society called the Heuristic Order of Lachrymose Contrarians by his best friend, Preston Bancroft, in Hollywood during the 1980Õs. His family was caught in a feud with the worldÕs ruling elite, the Scoundrels, stemming back from the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913. DonovanÕs adventure begins in the Caribbean where he tastes a bit of insanity and he continues along to Mexico where he comes face to face with a voracious chupacabra. He is being hazed into an eclectic, esoteric program and his travels take him further along. He loops around South America and heads to Kiribati in the Pacific where eccentric billionaires and pretty ladies abound. He tries to make sense of lifeÕs irregular happenings, finds some romance along the way, then is pitted against alien space ships and the darkest of human forces.
