This master's thesis examines how Korean athletes only focus on sports without enough academic education. As a result, Korean athletes struggle to find employment and have difficulty to adapt to the non-athletic society. Therefore, Korean athletesÕ academic satisfaction and confidence in their future employment is typically low, and the athletic system needs to make changes to better support their lives. The Korean AthletesÕ Academic Satisfaction and Future Employment Survey (KAASFES) was administered at two school sites in South Korea. Thirty student athletes from a community college and university participated in the study. The survey focused on exploring three themes: how prepared and confident participants felt to find employment after graduation, how confident and satisfied they were with their academic learning, and their perception of the value of academic learning for athletes.
