In September 2005 Kurt Westergaard drew one of the twelve cartoons of Mohammed published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. At this point nobody could have foreseen that the publication of the cartoons would generate hatred and that Danish embassies in the Middle East would soon go up in flames. Since then Kurt Westergaard has been on Al-QaidaÕs death list. On the first of January 2010 a fanatic Muslim broke into his house in order to kill him. Today Kurt Westergaard lives surrounded by bodyguards 24/7/365.
The name Kurt Westergaard is now well-known across the globe, and he is loved and hated because of his cartoon. However, very few people know the man behind the Mohammed cartoon.
