This book attempts several readings of the four dramaturgies (of author, director, actor, and collective creation) in relation to the four Lacanian discourses (of the Master, the University, the Hysteric, and the Analyst) and the capitalist pseudo-discourse. For each discourse and each dramaturgy, modes of methodological and technical work are conceptualized, and the intervening power strategies are identified. Comparisons are drawn between discourses and dramaturgies in the domain of theatrical praxis.
As a good complement to the discussion on collective creation in Latin America from the perspective of the Lacanian discourses, the book offers a bonus essay on collective creation by Platon Michailovic Ker_encev (1881-1940), written at the time of the triumph of the Russian Revolution.
