Lance was an Australian born and bred, but in his early years his parents took him to live in Britain. That is how Lancelot was conscripted into the Òwrong bloody armyÓ and fought with British troops in the Second World War. His complete disregard for authority meant that he often chose a more difficult option than he needed to choose - such as the day he was required to report for duty. He walked to the army camp because he was not going to spend money on a bus fare - but on his arrival he found that a free bus had collected all the new recruits. Lance lived through his time of service by cheating, faking and bungling his way forward, but was always faithful to his best friends when the going got rough. This is an account based on a true character - an adult comedy that gives the reader a brief and descriptive window into the life of serving British troops in the WW2 years. The miracle was that Lance and his friends actually lived to tell their story.
