This series of nine lectures by Professor Curtis F.J. Doebbler provides an overview of human rights in Sudan during a period of transition at the end of the 20th Century. Prof. Doebbler brings to this work his experience as a lawyer 'of counsel' to the leading law firm of Advocate Ghazi Sulieman in Khartoum, a professor at Khartoum University, and an adviser to two successive Ministers of Justice. The lectures cover the human rights norms that apply to Sudan generally, it treaty obligations, international human rights procedures applicable to Sudan, and the rights and responsibilities of judges and lawyers for human rights in Sudan.
