In June 2011 I published ÒCollections for the Ancestry of Colonel Richard Lee, Virginia Emigrant. In the course of research for that book and for my 1994 book ÒThe History of AlveleyÓ I had collected much information about the genealogies of the Lee families of 17th century England. The Lee families included in this book are those that came to my attention as possible forebears of Colonel Richard Lee, Virginia Emigrant. The pedigree of the Langley Lee family of Acton Burnel is in ÒCollectionsÓ but I have included here the full pedigree of the Lee family of Coton Hall. This volume of notes and pedigrees on the Lee families is of similar form as the ÒCollectionsÓ as it consists of a substantial amount of data in note form. It has also served to put my notes in order. Again many original latin and medieval English documents have been transcribed and are sometimes included in full and sometimes in summary. There are also many extracts reproduced from printed articles and books.
