Patrissia abandons her artistic career following the break-up of a torrid and chaotic affair with Johnny, her bullying but brilliant art tutor. Many years later she meets Marc, a secretive and enigmatic stranger at an El Greco exhibition. Attempting to cope with MarcÕs deceptions and torments, and equally treacherous, she plays a game that no-one can win, and in the end she is redeemed only by finally understanding the force of the revelation that Johnny had tried to instill in her.
