For the last three decades-plus, our house has been the venue for our annual family Passover dinner. If you visited us, this is what you would see: several generations of friends and family from a variety of faith traditions gathered elbow-to-elbow around the table, sharing the story of the IsraelitesÕ escape from Egyptian bondage while interjecting political commentary, inappropriate jokes, and occasional compliments. ThatÕs more than 30 yearsÕ worth of love, laughter, and off-key renditions of Dayenu Ð and, of course, food. I think of it this way: They tried to kill us, we prevailed, letÕs eat!
