This is Book III of a three book set of Lewis family records compiled by Guy Vaughn Lewis, Jr. of Stoneville, North Carolina. Guy Lewis was a prolific family researcher until his death in 1990. I do this in order to secure the preservation of these records and make them more readily available to Lewis family history researchers. These records focus largely on the descendants and possible ancestors of William Langston Lewis who resided in the North Carolina counties of Guilford and Rockingham in the time period of and immediately after the Revolutionary War. He served as a patriot soldier and officer in that conflict as a member of the Guilford militia and acquired grants for several large tracts of land in the aftermath of the war in the area of Rockingham county. He died in about 1787 leaving a widow, Sariah, and probably a large family. He was the ancestor of many of the Lewises whom continued to reside in the surrounding areas of North Carolina and Virginia.
