After my first book ÒThe Dark Edge of the RainbowÓ which describes the last War as it was experienced by my family, I was asked to write about the rest of my life, because in conversations people always said: ÒYou should write a book about thisÓ. It was an extraordinary life which happened quite by accident, Guardian Angel guidance, naivety and Life teaching me the hard way. My children were my life savers and to them I dedicate this book. It was a fair life, and looking back I wouldnÕt miss a thing, although sometimes I was ready to get off this planet. But that, I suppose is Life.
Meanwhile my children have decided to live at the other end of the world in New Zealand and they have made a life for themselves which would not have been possible in Europe. I miss them terribly, but at the same time I am happy that they have made a great success of their lives, have wonderful partners and a child each.
In the end, Life has been good to me.
