Gael loses her mother, her only parent at the age of eleven during WW2 in Brighton, England.
Her uncle, Wayne whoÕs a drifter takes her to Spain where although ruined by the Spanish Civil
War is now neutral to the World War and safer in comparison with England. Mysterious and
possibly depressed for an unknown reason, he gives Gael plenty of freedom, allowing her to
discover herself and her desires while adapting in a poor neighbourhood in Madrid filled with
Spanish gipsies who come from Seville to take refuge in that city. Her new friends create a
passion in her to dance flamenco.
3 years after the war, when she turns 17, together with her uncle they travel to a village called
Benaulim in India where Wayne owns a house. Till the age of 22, she explores herself as a
woman and has various affairs with numerous men. But one thing still remains a mystery to her.
What lies in her past? And who is in fact this silent, yet secretly benevolent man who claims to
be her uncle?
The truth changes her life forever. Causing misery and havoc.
This story studies the psychology of human beings. How they behave due to the way they were
raised and how it impacts them and their relationships with other people during adulthood. ItÕs
also the reminder of the injustices against women and certain minorities in the world that
unfortunately still happen in our times.
