In tandem with its companion reader, this study guide will greatly improve a studentÕs knowledge of English literature as well as improve important reading and writing skills. The reading exercises test the studentÕs reading comprehension, develop vocabulary, and instruct the student in poetics (symbolism, meter, metaphor, etc.) and different essay formats. In addition to other writing assignments, the student will write various compositions on topics that reinforce knowledge of English history and literature.
