LITTLE DENGÕS JOURNEY is a Dinka story passed down verbally from generation to generation. When I was seven years old, my mother told my brothers and me a story about a young boy named Little Deng who changed lives and made a big difference in his village. The story was very interesting, so fascinating and powerful, that I didnÕt forget it twenty years later. It was a story about a sense of family, purpose, character, leadership and determination, pursuing a dream, believing in possibility, personal responsibility, struggle, respect, love, equality, unity, and service. The story of Little Deng focuses on the characteristics of the culture, and customs of Dinka people from which the story originated.
