Logan CraneÕs dad has gone, and his mum had her mental breakdown, he and his older sister are the ones left to look after the house, and their younger siblings. Logan is an average teenager, he goes to school - when he feels like it, and not so much since he saw a Werewolf in the school grounds and again in the boys toilets.
And one evening Logan is mauled, turning into a Vampire. Through a Vampire tavern in York, The Blood & Pie, to the ruins of a manor house where a Werewolf is viscously executed, Logan learns about the two fractions of the Vampire world. What they both want with humans and learns of the Knights whose plague spreads everywhere.
The secret that Ichabod shows him of the town hall, leads Logan to meeting the Vampire, Annias Astraphel and too far off visions of Ancient Egypt, and he must face the dilemma; that of feeding on a human.
