Now, it was my turn to open gifts. Mom and dad had gotten me similar things to what they had gotten Katie, who got me a shirt I told her I wanted and some framed pictures of the vacation we took to the beach that I loved so much. After I thanked everyone, Mom handed Katie an envelope.
"Girls," she said, "this envelope contains some life changing information. Your father and I werenÕt sure about this decision at first, but now we have come to love the idea, and we hope you will, too."
