from the Forward: "For Dina recipes were something one got from the person who actually cooked something you enjoyed. She would walk right up to the kitchen of restaurants to ask how a soup or salad dressing was made. She would get recipes from the hostess of a dinner she had attended. And so when I found her treasure trove of recipes, with the help of my friend Dina Zvenko, they were written on snatches of paper, paper napkins, index cards, memos. I thought it fitting that the person who owned no cookbooks should have one made of some of her favorite recipes, so others could share in her culinary gifts."
