The book ÒLusona: Geometrical Recreations from Africa. Problems and SolutionsÓ presents ninety problems. Each time, some figures or patterns are given. Although they have different sizes, they are constructed with the same construction rule. The task consists of finding other figures of the same type that are missing in the given sequence of patterns. The figures or patterns presented in this book are in the style of traditional African sand drawings, which are called Ôsona.Õ The singular of ÔsonaÕ is ÔlusonaÕ in the Tchokwe (Cokwe) language spoken in Eastern Angola and neighboring areas of the Congo. Each of the given figures is composed of only one closed line. This line may cross itself many times and embraces all dots of the reference frame.
