A guide to building your musical foundations as a lyre player and musician.
In creating this booklet and accompanying lesson videos, it is my intention to offer resources and guidance to educate your mind, your hands, and your ears; education which can be developed and built upon as you grow in your musical capacity with the lyre. While playing music is about much more than technical knowledge and skill, learning the fundamentals is a necessary step to gain mastery and true freedom in one's playing and creativity. Though the heart may be full of wonder and curiosity, touched by the beauty of the lyre and its musical capacity, we must also educate our minds and our bodies to be able to fully participate in such beauty; a participation which involves both receptivity and gift in a posture of humility and gratitude.Ê
I hope this booklet is a great aid to you and that it serves as a friendly companion to accompany you on your journey,Ê
Please note that the course is primarily intended for those playing a 16 or 19 string diatonic lyre. While some lessons are applicable for any musician and differing lyre structures, this is not the primary audience for whom the course is designed.
