Macon County Road Records contains a very nice collection petitions. It covers from 1829 to 1840 in this volume. This collection begins with the counties formation, and includes a lot of early references to the State Road (1830Õs) as well as petitions to bordering states, such as Pickens Courthouse in S.C.
