The first book in this series, Washington & Jefferson College (2018), turned its attention to the inside of the pinhole camera. Each photograph was a study in the focusing characteristics of light and how light refracts. Where our eyesÕ physiology causes us to see light reflecting off objects in one particular way, we can use pinhole cameras to see unseen sitesÑinfinite depths of field and light waves that appear to bend and refract in untypical ways.

In Made in Pittsburgh: Slow Photography, the subject remains pinhole photography. Because the act of making pinhole photographs encourages reflection and expression, I continue to view the book as the ideal medium for presenting what pinhole photographers do, and showing plainly and patently what pinhole photography is.
