The project ÒMan on FireÓ began to form in July 2012, following an incident of self-immolation done by a demonstrator during a large-scale social justice protest in Tel Aviv, Israel.
The artists who contributed to this project were invited to respond (within the limitations of a printed publication) to what has become in modern times a radical form of political protest. While some of the works were preexisting, other works were done in response or following the invitation to contribute. Most of the participating artists live and work in New York, with the exception of Shai Yehezkelli, who currently lives in Tel Aviv, Israel.
