As a new Manager, or someone aspiring to be a great manager, or even just to refresh your skills and get ready for leadership let me ask you this:
How much time have you had to discuss what you need from your manager?
How many tools have you been given or instructed on by your manager?
Who has helped you understand your capabilities, competencies or skills?
Where are the resources you need to learn effectively, to do your job better?
What are your strengths and limitations, and where should you focus your attention?
If you canÕt answer these comfortably, or feel like you are going it alone, then the likelihood is that you need some help. Perhaps you are a new manager and your company has not got around to showing you how to do the job, or even discussed what they want? Perhaps nobody has told you the rules to be a great manager or leader in business...and in all likelihood not explained what the roles and responsibilities of management or leadership are.
