Martha is the story of the only daughter of an over protective widowed mother living in a remote village on a British Caribbean island.
The widowed mother wishes to bring up her daughter according to her own norms and values. This works well for the mother and daughter until Harry, an eligible bachelor from a nearby village is given permission to walk out with young Martha with a view to marriage.
