Derrek Homewood has been teaching on the Navajo Reservation for the last 17 years. This collection of various alternative mathematical strategies have been taken from his own classroom curriculum. When taught in a developmentally appropriate sequence, these strategies have been proven to consistenly increase number sense as well as confidence and motivation within Derrek's students.
