Math Mammoth Grade 7-B worktext covers second half of grade 7 mathematics. This is a pre-algebra course, and students can continue to algebra 1 after completing it. The curriculum meets and exceeds the Common Core Standards for grade 7.
Part B starts out with a study of ratios and proportions, unit rates, scaling geometric figures, and more. The next chapter focuses on the concept of percent, percentage of change, percentage of comparison, and simple interest.
In chapter 8, students draw geometric figures, and study angle relationships, area and perimeter of a circle, conversions between units of area and of volume, surface area, volume, and cross-sections of solids.
Chapter 9 covers square roots, the Pythagorean Theorem, and its applications. Chapter 10 is an introduction to probability. The last chapter covers statistical concepts.
