When my mother, Donna Rae Britt, died at age 74 of complications from colon cancer and the resulting surgery, I was left stunned. Gradually, I found solace for my grief Ð talking to her friends and family, reading through her old diaries, and especially through recording my childhood memories. Now IÕm sharing those personal memories, photos and scenes of my childhood growing up in a small, rural western New York town. Idyllic summers spent with family, friends and neighbors; family vacations to Florida and other parts of the country; holidays filled with laughter Ð and great food Ð are all captured here with deep affection and candor.
