By far and away one of the more interesting bands to swish about under the fancy Britpop umbrella, MENSWEAR were up against it when they became were so strongly favoured by Melody Maker, because this led to almost constant scathing criticism from NME, and that never helps. The band only lasted a few years and have left no real impact. This is a shame because they werenÕt the precious manufactured dandies some quarters painted them as, but a bunch of lads making a cool racket.
They were very much a fine live band and deserve to be remembered as such. This book captures them at two shows from 1995, with 155 photos from the Forum - 23.1.95 and LA2 4.5.95.
