'What's in the box Mum?' asked inquisitive Demi.
'And what box would that be,' answered her Mum.
'That box you have in your hand Mum, the square box.'
'This square box in my hand, this square blue box that's got a wee girl's name on the front and looks like it could be some sort of birthday present but it's for a wee girl called Demi, so, do we know a wee girl called Demi and if we do, is it her birthday today?'
'That was almost funny Mum,' replied seven year old Demi and when she saw how she was standing with her hands on her hips she asked herself if she really was only seven today but she never had time to ask herself anything else because as quick as a flash she was by her side and pleading for all she was worth for the blue box she knew was for her.
