Midlana takes the logical next step in the evolution of the traditional Lotus replica, by incorporating a front-wheel drive (FWD) drivetrain and mounting it mid-engine, while retaining the original's retro styling.
A mid-engine configuration provides better acceleration, better braking, and better cornering than its front-engine equivalent. FWD drivetrains are extremely common, with more choices, better availability, and a larger aftermarket than front-engine rear-drive engines. Many builders are already familiar with FWD drivetrains; Midlana opens the door to using drivetrains that they already have and understand.
Midlana contains full plans, including: wheel and tire choices, drivetrain selection, options, seats, shocks and springs, construction techniques, chassis and suspension fabrication, cowl and dash layout, electrical, fuel, and coolant system construction, shifter fabrication, windscreen mounting, parts and sources, final assembly, and registration. NOTE: This is the spiral-bound edition.
