-Then the moonlit walk home to our own beds

Holding our parentsÕ hands

Or if you were the littlest

Daddy carried you all the way home

To beautiful uninterrupted sleep-

This is a collection of verse from the year 2006-2015 that describes, remembers, celebrates, laments, forecasts a life that began as a little farm girl born in the middle of the Great Global Depression in the upper Mississippi valley of Wisconsin. Fern Green Baldwin expresses the vast transition in spirit and economy as a woman and a mother within the heart of 'the American Century'. A mother of eight, wife, artist, grandmother, and great grandmother; what is written here is a singular perspective on rural america, industrial transformation, migration, and moves through the various 'projects' of her time to a deep rooted sense of place with her husband and family far afield. Within these pages we have an expression and a chronicle of a lifetime articulated from this 'sense of place'..and a wonder of invisible things.
