This book is an amazing record of the life and work of the ÔRed LionessÕ the name given to Dr. Enid Parker by a Danakil Sheikh. EnidÕs story of her forty years of work with the Afar people in northern Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti is the story of how God brought the Gospel to this region. Initially traveling to the Danakil as a teacher Enid was asked to take up the challenge of reducing the Afar language to writing ultimately resulting in the production of two dictionaries. This story is not just about Enid. It is also very much about the many people who helped her in her task: Afars, government officials, Presidents, professors, universities, her home church, members of the Red Sea Mission Team and other mission agencies and her many friends. This is a wonderful testimony of how God uses willing people, like Enid Parker, to do his work on earth.
