This is a book containing many of my mother's poems written from her teenage years until her death. My mother was poor all of her life. She had many heartaches and failures in love. She was married to my father for a short time but divorced when I was five. She never drove and never owned a car. She rented all her life and often lived in substandard housing. Personal tragedies had prevented her from becoming a nurse when she graduated from high school. However, she was very intelligent, strong willed, and stubborn. She had much difficulty expressing her feelings verbally, but she had a way with written words. She encouraged her children to read and always bought little books for them at Christmas. She became a Christian at age 55 and her whole world and outlook changed. She completely adored her Savior and was anxiously waiting for Him when she passed away at 84 years old.
