There is an old gospel hymn titled, ÒStanding on the PromisesÓ. This book is more like Òpraying on the promisesÓ. The idea is that we combine our prayers and His promises to communicate.
A well-known Canadian minister says, ÒPrayer is not informing God how bad things are.ÓHeÕs right!
When we focus on the need, we feel worse, more negative and less hopeful.
There is a better way! When we pray using scripture, we are praying faith and life and hope into the situation. GodÕs word is amazing that way. We can say all we want to with our own words but when we use HIS words, we are praying in His will. Our prayer becomes worship and our spirits are lifted up.
The beauty of praying scripture is that we take GodÕs own holy words back to Him and let him know we are trusting Him to keep his loving promises.
