This book was compiled from materials produced by the people and clergy of St. JohnÕs church, Kawawachikamach, using material from Portions of the Book of Common Prayer and Hymns in the CreeÐIndian Language (Rev. and Mrs. W. G. Walton, 1923) The Book of Common Prayer, Canada (BCP 1959), The Ministry to the SickÐexcerpts from the Book of Common Prayer (Cree translation by Rev. Caleb Lawrence and Agnes Kowapit, 1978) the Naskapi New Testament (2007), and the Naskapi Lectionary (2012). The Ministry to the Sick is based on the liturgy from the BCP, prepared by Father Bruce BarnettÐCowan (1983) using the Cree translation provided by Rev. Caleb Lawrence. Translators at the Naskapi Development Corporation rendered the Naskapi language version working from the Cree translation and the BCP. The project is facilitated by Bill Jancewicz and the NDC Translation and Linguistics Services Department.
